This past week has been one for the god damn books. In four days, we celebrated three birthdays...mine being one of them. March 14th (Monday-BOOOO!) was the 5th anniversary of my 21st birthday. March 18th (Friday-YAYYY!) was my boyfriend's 28th birthday, and Saturday March 19th was one of my best friend's birthday.
Sharing a birthday week with a boyfriend is pretty fun. Spen has the ability to make even a Monday birthday feel like a Saturday night out on the town. Sunday he took me out to breakfast for a birthday mimosa and some home fries and then we headed to the driving range (I'm the next Michelle Wie in the making basically) and then we stopped for some nachos and a couple beers at bar near by. My dad took us out to dinner that night.
On Monday my mom made us scallops for dinner. YUM!! and Spen sucked it up and watched the finale of the Bachelor with me because he's a good boy and I was the BIRTHDAY GIRL so he had to do whatever I wanted (healthy). He gave me a ChromeCast for a gift which I have been wanting so bad. (Even though we said no gifts..whoops.) It was a nice relaxing birthday and the amount of messages I received was honestly very overwhelming. I love my people.
Spenser and I both took off Friday so we could go out and celebrate St Paddy's day and not have to worry about being functional adults at work the next day. I got to his house and made him open his present as soon as I walked in. I can't keep secrets of what I got someone as a present long so I threw the bag with his Sperry's in them and immediately felt relieved that I no longer had that huge weight of secrecy on my shoulders anymore. (Yes I was the kid that went searching for her Christmas presents...oh wait I still do that?)
We went to Trinity, the Irish bar the next town over from us, and ate some corn beef and cabbage, drank some Guinness beers and watched the crowd dance to the cover band which is way more entertaining than it sounds. From there, we stopped at a few more bars on the way home and ended our night at the Sandbar and rang in his 28th year there (with jello shots, duh).
Saturday night, pretty much every person I know/love headed up to Boston for a night of celebrating/drinking. We started off at Paddy O's in Fanuiel Hall and then headed over to West End Johnnies. Downstairs at West End was the most amazing country cover band evaaa and my friends and I had the best time pretending to know all the words/making them up as we go and dancing.
Andddddd I spent Sunday morning trying not to throw up. Spenser's family took us to lunch in the afternoon and then we LITERALLY napped from 5-11 p.m. It was a great much needed recovery day.
Overall it was the best birthday weekend and I loved getting to share it with two of my favorite people...
