It has been no secret that I have been on a weight loss journey for quite some time now. Rome wasn't built in a day, amiright? My weight is constantly fluctuating between about 7 pounds and my goal is to lose my last 15 by the summer. It's not so much the number that I'm working for but the way I feel. I can tell when my body is where it's supposed to be and when it needs some work, and right now my body could use a little extra attention.
I got a fitbit for Christmas (thanks Dad!) and I can honestly say it has motivated me to get to moving. Working to get those 5 dots on the screen by the end of the day is a high priority for me. My girlfriend also told me that every hour on the hour her and her co-workers get up and do 10 squats, lunges (each leg), and calf raises. Office life is all about sitting is a spinney chair and munching on snacks so I am copying her hourly ritual just to stay a little active during the work day.
I also reached out to Katie Boyd. For those of who don't know who Katie is, give her website a visit. She is the best personal trainer in the game. My best friend went to her when she won Miss Massachusetts to get in tip top shape for Miss America and let me tell you, my friend looked healthy, fit, and happy. I have my first Face Time session with Katie tonight (her studio is in New Hampshire but she offers Face Time sessions). I am so excited to talk goals and plans with her and get going to become the healthiest version of me.
In addition to that I am attending Katie's "spirit day" on Saturday in New Hampshire. It's a four hour day with a bunch of her clients where we are focusing on yoga, meditation, and creating vision boards. I am so excited to meet the other girls and have a day.
Setting goals is important to keep you on track. In addition to the 15 lbs. by summer, I'm hoping to work on my flexibility, calming my anxiety, and taking better care of myself. Here's to 2016!
