"Happy 2016 peeps. A new year is many people's opportunity to start a new and get your shit together. I had a 10 minute wait to get on the treadmill on Saturday because its "New Year, New Me" time. Resolutions are my favorite part of the new year. Most of the time (okay, pretty much all of the time) a majority of my resolutions roll over to the new year because they went undone. I am still waiting to lose that last 15 pounds and I am still trying to work on myself when it comes to my confidence and anxiety.
Since the new year, I have been reading article after article on people's new years resolutions to try to find some inspiration. Besides the weight loss goals and eating less red meat promises, here is a list of a few goals that I am adding to my to-do list in 2016:
1. "Don't Go Bankrupt": the Betches give the advice to not NOT have any money at the end of the year. According to them, as long as you are meeting your financial expectations then you are doing A OK as a young person. Saving money is hard, especially when you like fun and clothes as much as I do, but this year I need to buckle down and give my savings account a little TLC.
2. "To Make My Bed Every Morning After I Get Up": Rikki from Glitter Guide gave me a little inspiration to get my shit together. I still suffer from the college syndrome that when I am trying on outfits to go out, they never get hung back up. It's a terrible habit that I HATE that I do. I want my room to be a clean, calm place for me to be and that all starts with a freshly made bed.
3. "Watch Instructional YouTube videos": Holly from The Bolde instructs us to become more hands on. Whether I want to master the smokey eye with my Naked Palette or finally learn how to change a tire YouTube can teach you. I want to become more independent this year and YouTube is chalk full of how-to, step by step videos showing you how to do just that.
4. "Make More Social Dates with Friends": Women's Day instructs us to make more time for friends. I am fairly certain that this should be the easiest resolution of them all. A reason to party with your besties? Okay fineeeee....
And just a little Throwback: 2013/2014 New Year's Eve Kels. Such a ham...
